i listened to the klausner episode tom was on. i didn't really enjoy it. just talking about stuff i don't care about. like broadway shit and living in new york. not for me. also, pop culture shit i have no idea about nor do i want to.

did anyone listen to the fred stoller WTF? i thought it was great. he's such a funny, totally jewish guy. i read his kindle single, too - my seinfeld year - and it was also really good. funny, and also a great insight into how seinfeld got made. i hope fred stoller gets a resurgence (or first surgence?) out of it. seems like a lot of people liked it.

Mike, please describe each and every one of these shows to Noah.

Does anyone listen to Klausner anymore? I love her on Best Show, but HWYW is just not good, right?
Yeah of course I do, I love all things Klausner, HWYW included.  Just returned from the live show with Scharpling and Ira Glass and Sandra Bernhard and it was great.  I only listen to like 4 podcasts a week and even that feels like all I can handle.

The stories about his mother were funny and sad at the same time.

Yeah, that's where I'm at with it. I cannot connect with her monologues. Like, none of it tracks for me. When she's on the Best Show it's always great, so I guess that's where I have to get my Klausner fix.

bi-weekly means twice a week here, not every other week.
Yeah, I just read "bi-weekly" on the site, but discovered that they meant "semi-weekly" when I listened to the latest episode.

the new format for bullseye (sound of young america) kind of sucks. you get the shorter interview that goes out on radio, plus some segments i don't really care about. like the hip hop recommendations or little comedy bits that suck. i get why he wants it out there in the same format as what goes on the air, so it doesn't really bother me that much. but i liked it better when it was more bare bones, i guess. just my problem.
I really like Bullseye. I never liked that the Sound was cut up into segments instead of presented as a full show. I love the comedy bits 90% of the time.

The Pod F.  Tompkast is more disappointing than I had hoped.  I dunno.  I'll keep trying, I guess.

Yeah, I wish I liked it better, too. I enjoy it okay, but PFT's standup and appearances on other podcasts are always much, much funnier than his own show.

Agreed, I gave up on it after the first few episodes, maybe I should try again soon though.

I love it, but I'm a gigantic PFT fan. I will admit that it's waned in quality a little bit. The Undiscovered Project segment isn't really holding my attention anymore. I still love the live segment and the Jen Kirkman chat though.

Dead Authors podcast has been pretty awesome. The only one I haven't enjoyed was the Jen Kirkman episode. The Matt Gourley as Carl Sagan episode was fucking amazing.

Speaking of, I'm really excited to hear the new Superego. I haven't gotten a chance to put it on my iPod.

The Undiscovered Project drags and drags. The intro riffing if my favorite part. I rarely make it through Undiscovered Project on to Kirkman. The live thing is hit and miss, to me.

I really enjoy the cylons (I think?). So funny. I'm really glad both PFT and Patton regularly guest. Andy Daly has been great as well the times he's been on.

Also, this is strange, but in the last bit with the preacher, the addition of him blowing kisses at the end never ceases to kill me for some reason.

We went to a taping of Hollywood Babble on a couple of weeks ago.  We got really crappy seats at the top row, but it wasn't too bad.  Some dude kept bumping my seat to take pics.  I ignored him, then my buddy told me to take a look.  Turned out it was Jason Mewes.  When I realized who it was the show started and the crowd was clapping.  He turned to my crowd and screamed "OH MY GOD I WANT TO SUCK THEIR DICKS!!!!!"  All in all it was a fun night, I would do it again....

dude, are you fucking kidding me? nick lowe on WTF monday.

i thought this week's comedy bang bang was like the epitome of peoples' complaints about it. you start out with 2 guests who are clever and engaging in weird al and todd glass, and then you fuck it up by throwing in some lady doing an awful impersonation of liza minelli. first off, the impersonation was like, a stock impersonation. it was exactly the same thing anyone who's ever heard her speak would do. secondly, what's the point of doing a liza minelli impersonation in 2012? also, i feel like they've played would you rather almost every week since they joined with funny or die. i think would you rather is probably the worst game they play, simply because it requires the guests to understand what's going on and be clever enough to ask leading questions. and it also requires scott aukerman to come up with a clever response. there's just too many ways for it to get boring, and it usually does. at least with something like what am i thinking or dead or alive or hollywood facts, there's usually humor in the guest not getting the bit, or aukerman is in enough control to make it funny himself. anyway, there's 500 words about that.

i had to drop you made it weird. something about pete holmes overlaughing about everything and just generally being a bad interviewer was too much. his overlaughing reminded me of jesse thorn on jordan jesse go. i think pete holmes was getting some interesting guests, but i feel like it could've definitely benefited from some editing down. anyway, so long to that.

maybe i really should start a podcast about podcasts.
