This Roman Line thing sounds like Bruce Springsteen meets Screeching Weasels meets The Copyrights...a-whoa-oh-oh!

I've never heard this Homosexuals band before either, very Kinks-influenced I'd say? Oh, here's some kind of strange prog-rock-esque bridge/breakdown...this is dragging the song down, quick, oh not a bridge but an extended outro? Note that I'm not very familiar with all of your fancy-pants Rock 'N Roller lingo...regardless, I like The Homosexuals song better...what an odd thing to type on a Friday morning...

Mike - The Pains of Being Pure at Heart "Everything With You"

I am familiar with The Methadones and some of their stuff is pretty cool...I have not heard this album though, and this song ain't much to write home about.

Thanks to Matt Dorsey I've been jamming to the unfortunately named Pains of Being Pure at Heart for a few months now and their album was one of my favs of 2009. This song being one of the highlights.

Sorry Greggy, but it's gonna be Mike Hall with the clean-sweep for this match!

Concept - The Exploding Hearts "I'm a Pretender"
Cleptic - Teenage Bottlerocket "Skate Or Die"

Ooooh, this Exploding Hearts album is one I've had on the ol' "Buy this mofo" list for a while now. I very much enjoyed this song!

OK, I bought their "Total" CD, enjoyed their performance at the one Insub Fest I went to but this is one of those bands who wore themselves out very quickly and I really can hardly stand them anymore. This pretty much sucks.

Concept wins the first round of this match, going away!

I've never heard The Sonics before either, I'm getting quite the education here this morning...this is gritty and dirty and garage-y (is that an adjective?) and loud. Pretty good.

A real classic, not much more to say here!

Cleptic bears down and ties the match, forcing a decisive 3rd round!

Last.fm is telling me I've listened to these guys a couple times before but never this song. The name of the band rings a bell but I can't recall their other songs. This was pretty danged rockin'!

This one must be mis-labeled because this is definitely NOT S.M.C.D...which is a real shame because I LOVE that one! But this is still the goddamned Rubber Duck, so show some respect! OK, here's what I do know, it's a duet..."I'll never know till it's over, if I'm right or I'm wrong loving you...I'd rather be sorry for something I've done than for something that I didn't do."

I'm going to give Cleptic's pull the edge here, I mean, it's the Rubber Duck for Christ's sake, he wins in a real close one!

Woo! That was a real nail biter! I'd probably give Concept the win just because I love that Archers of Loaf song, but it was certainly a close match.

Mike Hall is going to be hella tough to beat. I expect to get a severe ass kicking once Gurt gets home.
