No judging involved. As I say, I've never taken it, and never discussed it in depth with anyone who has.
But it's very common for drugs, even those marketed as cures for anxiety, to produce the effect that they're supposedly curing. A prime example is nicotine, which simultaneously agitates and calms the nervous system. In other words, the more of it you use to "relax," the more of it you think you need.
It's also worth noting that a psychoactive drug user is probably not a good source for an objective evaluation of that drug's positive and/or negative effects. Of course you could say the same about someone who has no experience with its effects, i.e., me.
