Well, being that the series starts on BBC America on Saturday, and it's a new Doctor, new companion, new TARDIS interior, and new production theme, I thought a new thread was in order. I realize only like 6 people will post in here, but hey, thems the breaks, right?

After seeing episodes 1 & 2 I can safely say Matt Smith is a brilliant Doctor, and the missus admits she had nothing to worry about after all, despite her near-insane love of David Tennant.

Both stories had tons of great dialogue and firmly establishes hunks of Doctor 11's character.

I'll hold off discussing individual episodes until they air here.

I know Jim's seen episode 1, so if you want to post anything, remember to spoiler tag the spoilers!

Oh they used familiar elements. They've always changed it a little each season (at least the New Series), but I dislike this one.

I haven't seen three yet.

Matt Smith is so ridiculously perfect as the Doctor. For me it's the expressive face and hands.

I was kind of bored with the first episode but they did the whole in and out of time thing well, from Amy's perspective. Looks like a promising season though. The new Doctor, jury is still out but I don't like that he tries to talk a million miles an hour like David Tennant but I'm sure he'll find his style. Also remind me a lot of Jon Pertwee, maybe tone of voice? Pond could be my new favorite companion.

I wonder what the season arc about silence is going to be about.

Saw in the previews River Song and Weeping Angels. Daleks of course. I'm sure Cybermen. Hopefully, Doctor's daughter?

Didn't like the new song and cheesy lightning bolts and shit. Too much clean slate shit in the first episode. I like the new Tardis guts but they really had to fuck with his sonic screwdriver?

I was really nervous about Matt Smith and new writers etc but the first episode put me at ease. There are kinks but those always get worked out.
