I'm a little sorry to hear they're bringing back Daleks and Cybermen, I thought David Tennant's doctor had finished them off once and for all. I would have liked the series to focus on new challenges and villains for a bit.  But I guess the fans expect them. Or at least the writers think that the fans expect them.

Its been like this ever since the beginning of the new Doctor series. The Daleks were supposed to be extinct. Then there was one last survivor etc.. etc.. they just keep coming back. The explanation in the Dalek episode was

The new doctor is growing on me with each episode, but David Tennant was such an over the top kind of insane that he is fairly hard to follow.

Karen Gillan =  ridiculously hot.

 I like that Matt reigns it in a bit and is more reserved.  Old man in a young man's body!

Im loving the new Doc and assistant, it all seems to work better and more like The mcoy/ aldred seasons.
The Statues are my favourite, but Im a bit biased because I made all their wings!

There's apparently a legal stipulation that they have to have at least one Dalek episode per season or they lose the rights to them, which is why we ended up with that total throwaway episode this season. There won't be any more Dalek eps this season.

Oh, and I don't know if this info has gone public yet or not, but Torchwood WILL be back for Season 4.

I really thought Torchwood was going the whole specials format.  Isn't Capt Jack supposed to be on Desparate Housewives or some shit?

Torchwood Series four was commissioned and they were originally in talks to co produce it with Fox (which would have been awesome, considering how great the McGann film was...that was sarcasm, yeah)but fox pulled out.

I don't think they HAVE to use the Daleks, but they pay a fee to license them for x number of years and they want to get their money's worth I believe.

Sarah Jane Adventures has Series 4 (filming now) and five commissioned!

and I'd like to think more could be used.  I'd personally love to see the Zygons again, and I'd like to see the cybermen from our universe show up, but they spent an awful lot of money on the suits for the Alt-Earth ones!

I wonder if they are going to bring the Sea Devils with them, They showed a picture of one when the Atraxi were scanning earth. They used to roll together.

I would love to see them bring Sutekh from the Pyramids Of Mars back, I really love that episode. The Zygons would be pretty great too, and we can always use more Sontarans.

Also I'd really really love for Romana to show up again I know that the doctor is supposedly the last time lord, but last we saw her she was staying in e-space, so probably was out of the time war, which could mean she is still alive)

I'd like her to come out of e-space and still be played by Lalla Ward.  Although, if they went by any of the Audio continuity (Unlikely) she returned and was Lord President of Gallifrey for a time.

The Dalek license is owned by the estate of Terry Nation who created them.  If the fricking BBC can't afford to buy it outright, it's gotta be pretty expensive.

I kind of agree, but I think it's still got potential. Some of the clues they've laid thus far  lead me to believe it's going to be something awesome.  But you're right, so far it's not been great. They went from the first episode to a throwaway (Space Whale), to a Dalek Throwaway, to two good Weeping Angels episodes, to one episode that was kind of "Meh".  It just feels like they are trying WAY too hard to duplicate all the awesome clues they laid with the Bad Wolf stuff in season one but they are being SO heavy handed about it that it's just insulting.

I'm not all caught up via bit torrent but I just did see the first weeping angels episode which is the first good one this season.  They are being a bit heavy handed about the cracks and shit.  I can only hope they will outclever the whole bad wolf thing as well but I'm having little faith.

The Weeping Angel episode (first one) was good, but that's as far as I've gotten so far. This season is starting to pick up and I am warming to the new Doctor a bit... (and I am hot for Amy Pond)
