« on: January 28, 2011, 10:13:03 AM »
Anyone get started yet?  I'm waiting for two documents from my co-op for my share of the co-op's mortage interest paid and real estate taxes paid, but I did everything else last night.
last time i got the sausage at citi i took a bite and juice went all over my shorts.

I did everything, submitted electronically, then received an email saying that the Feds will not accept my return until FEB 14th because of itemized deductions.

New tax laws went into effect so late in 2010 that the IRS couldn't get them in place in time and are holding returns until they're ready.

LAME.

Yeah - turbotax told me that when it was doing the comparison of itemized vs. standard deductions.  Pretty annoying, but at least only a couple of weeks away.

I filed mine on the 22nd. They were accepted, and I should be receiving my return any day now.

I don't even have my W2s yet.

I also don't know if I will get a return. I had to pay the last two years. Bastards.

My money's already in the bank!  Which is good because I need to pay off the credit card before we can finance the house, which is supposed to happen in a month or two.

I'm getting kind of excited for next year.  Between technically "buying" our house and the fact that we're considering installing solar electricity, we should be getting an insane amount back next year.

Yeah, I'm not really looking forward to that extra $2500 expense every year.

Or like it happens little by little, every month.

Did they extend all those green/energy tax credits? Last I saw, they were expiring at the end of 2010.

Obama done extended that bitch.

Now if he would just cancel the repayment of the $7500 homebuyer credit they gave out the year before they made it $8000 that doesn't have to be paid back...

I got my W2s today - I was really worried that I wouldn't get any return because I'd have to pay all of that money to the government for untaxed freelance money I was making.  BUUUT it looks like I'll still get about half of my anticipated return.  I'm going to file tomorrow so I know what's going on f'reals.
