Just about to finish this, only got a few pages to go, last book of the Earthsea series, Le Guin is a great author

i LOVE the earthsea trilogy and ursula k. le guin.  she's the author of "the word for world is forest" which is maybe the most poetic book title ever.

i was a little let down by the additional earthsea books.  they were pretty fun, but don't come close to the trilogy.
Ice cream was a cold delicacy that could be made from beebleberries.

that's the one book of hers i havent read yet! Earthsea and the Dispossessed are so great. I really liked Tehanu for what it was, but I know what you mean regarding the first 3 and then the last 2 full length novels

WEIRD. I just blazed through this on Saturday. thought it was a pretty interesting take on the zombie thing.

I also read SK's Duma Key and Under the Dome in the past few weeks. all pretty good stuff!

i always make the mistake of thinking when i enjoy a comedian that i'll hear their voice and genius delivery whenever reading their work in print. i've done it with a couple lewis black books and i forget who else. most recently in this vain i read Patton Oswalt's "Zombie Spaceship Wasteland" from cover to cover in the course of a few hours a couple sundays ago. it was entertaining and definitely had some moments that had my belly shaking trying to hold in audible laughter so as to not wake my wife. but i definitely prefer watching/listening to him. it was more a series of short essays/anecdotes that you quickly figure out why you'd never heard about them in his standup as they're just not quite that level of funny. i wouldn't recommend purchasing it, in physical form anyway, as i don't know how much re-readability it really has. but it's definitely an interesting read as it gives you some more personal insight into the man who's probably the greatest comedic genius i'll ever see in my lifetime.
and it feels like punishment, but i don't know what for.

Finished Bryant and May: Off the Rails - it was as good as all the others but not the best of the series.

Currrently working on Game of Thrones for the PPMB book club - not liking it so far.

also working on The Dark Tower III Wastelands on audio cd..

If I can't make Daredevil and Nightwing team up against Hellboy, I don't think I want to play this game anymore.

i finished THE TIME MACHINE.  there were two parts in that book that i found especially beautiful
(click to show/hide)

i'm looking forward to starting the INVISIBLE MAN next.  in the mean time, i'm reading a book called THE SCIENTISTS: a history of science told through the lives of its greatest inventors, but it's pretty dry so far.  i'm only twenty pages in, tho!

I finished 31 Bond Street this morning. Next up are Captain Freedom by G. Xavier Robillard, Totally Killer by Greg Olear, and Everyday Life in Early America, by David Freeman Hawke.

I also want to see if I can grab Tim Ferriss's books from the library.

That's awesome, I'm glad you liked it. Amy's corresponding with him for work, and I told her that she has to tell him it's my favorite book.
