Not really religious reasons. Mostly just tradition and some weird hangups concerning my dad who moved to Malaysia. I'm not incredibly religious but I have this awkward corner set up in my house full of all the Arabic and Malay things he left including our prayer mats that I can't really bear to take down. I don't really have Asian or Muslim friends at all so its kind of my only real source of my father's culture and it was one of the few experiences we actually shared, so yeah.

Haha, yeah, I get that. There's definitely a difference between sweaty sticky and beer-covered sticky.

You could probably borrow the pointed style of can-opener from the bartender, particularly if you're tipping well.
