I used to play this a lot and I've been thinking of playing again. Any NYCers want to start playing Hero Clix with me?

Also, why don't you ever play Thunderstone or any of that nerdy bullshit with us? It's essentially the same thing! But Heroclix somehow involves Batman figurines, so it's obviously better.

Thunderstone is a game where you use cards to do math and battle dragons and shit. It's awesome.

I have no idea how to play heroclix, but I assume it's similarly dorky.

I am searching for DC booster packs on amazon as we speak

Yeah, counting squares is a big part of Hero Clix. Also the numbers on their stands.

Dude, I would totally play Hero Clix with you. I played it once in high school and aside from the fact that the dude I played with decided he would top load his side and give me shitty characters (seriously, I wasn't a bad player he purposefully created our battle so that there was no way I could win) it was awesome.

I recall the best marvel guy had like 12 clix!

I don't think we played Marvel Clix, just like monster clix. My dudes had like 1-3 and the guy I played with had like 6-8. I had been playing Dungeons and Dragons for a while at that point and understood the mechanics of it and about halfway through the game, I was like WAIT WHAT? I was so mad. This dude also was mega smooth - his way of comforting anyone (including when a friend of mine found out his uncle had died) was to tell them "Well, at least you've had a girl/boyfriend".

You can mix the different sets, right? If I can't make Daredevil and Nightwing team up against Hellboy, I don't think I want to play this game anymore.

It is so much fun once you learn how to play. I really didn't think I'd like it at all when I started playing.

And to Chadd, there are a bunch of gameplay rules (A LOT, actually). BUT, there is a ton of flexibility on what "scenarios" you can play. You can play a small 300 point team (usually 3 or 4 figures) or you can play 3,000 point battles (a shit load of figs). You can play 2, 3, or 4 players. You can mix all the universes.
