Bands should put info here, so we know what these releases are!
« on: September 05, 2011, 09:44:41 PM »
I will start by listing all my shitty bands.

Susie Derkins was my first band, also featuring Chris Grivet.  We were pretty embarrassingly bad.

After that, Grivet and I went on to play in The Shy Guys, along with Jonnie Whoa Oh and Charles Camacho.

Next, Grivet and I joined up with Mikey Baltimore and Vic Vapo to be in The Slaughterhouse Four.

Finally, I said "Fuck Grivet" and joined up with Grath, Mikey Erg, Chelsea and Dan Paquin in Short Attention, featuring 15-second long songs.

I don't know who The Jerkingtons are.

What Happened? was a silly band from Philadelphia. It was me, Matt, Jay, Brendan and Perry.  Matt and Brendan play in Everyone Everywhere.  Perry and Jay play in Dry Feet now, and Perry also used to be in Lighten Up. We did a bunch of EPs and a live recording on WKDU.  Cropkiller and Andrew Goes to Work were CDRs.  This is Our Life was a 7", and there were some other songs we recorded at the same time that never came out.  Not Fine But Adequate was intended to only be a mediafire link, but it's coming out on 7" any day now.  Everything we recorded (except for one particularly not-good demo) is uploaded.  My favorite is either Not Fine or the WKDU recording

Dirty Blonde was a indie rock/pop punk band of the Superdrag/Superchunk persuasion, from Long Island. We bailed on our spot at Fest 9, got kicked off a Ted Leo show, and recorded a 7" that wasn't released. We got the message and are now defunct.

Red Phone Dispatch was my first band. Extremely poppy punk about super heroes and ladies and both, in one instance.  We only left Minnesota 4 times I think. The split was our first release and I still like it. Rotary Public was next and it hasn't aged that well. I still feel like Safety In Numbers is a solid record.

The Strait A's were comprised of Kat from the God Damn Doo Wop Band, myself, and about 9 different drummers. Straight up pop punk. Kat is a harmony machine and made me sound like a better songwriter than I am. Her songs are much better than mine. "Unreleased Garbage " was originally going to be half of a split, but it sounded awful.

The Punchlines are a fucking joke.

paperjets (apart from being annoyingly not capitalised) are a pop quarter from London, England. We play powerpop and feature myself, Sebastien A. Zatopek, and two other wondeful humans called Paolo and Yusuf. We're pretty great.

The release on here is, as the name suggests, a teaser we made for a show we played recently so we can pimp ourselves around.

It's also my chance to ride Sebby's coattails to fame and fortune.

Whose annoying idea was this, anyway?

Paolo. Always the bloody Italians.

I may have also agreed with it. I'm thinking we should ditch it.

No it's The Four Eyes from California. Those Four Eyes are from Mass. Totally different styles.

Yeah, what a son of a bitch that guy is!

Glad you like what we had. I was really trying to track down the original masters of that record. They sound a little better than what went on the CD. Did you ever hear the story of what happened with that?

no.

The Four Eyes - we've been around since 93, toured with the Bananas (some of you may have been in diapers) also, in the last decade played with The Ergs and Unlovables a few times. Also, the guy from Houseboat/Stienways said he liked us. we were also in Trekkies 2 (sometimes on Showtime at 1 am) for a minute and once made the 'Funny Five' on the Dr Demento radio show.

Who played bass on that recording?
And who wrote the songs?
Also, get Mac to submit the BoC discography here.

Richie Roast played bass. Me and tony had these songs written for a while and he just made up new lyrics every time. mac wrote the new lyrics and sang. i would love if mac did BoC but i highly doubt it

Basically, I'm an idiot and compressed it wrong. The files I sent were garbage compared to the originals I had. That's why I never understood what the hell was going on. "Sounds fine! You're crazy!" and things of that nature. Turns out it didn't sound fine and I am an moron.
