I am trading in Dead Island for this, without having beaten it. That game turned out not to really be my cup of tea, but I still wish I'd gotten all the way through it. But fuck it, Batman!

It's just Arkham Asylum turned up to 11. The city is amazing and so well designed, there's so much to do, it's just ball explodingly brilliant.

I saw Jimmy Fallon playing this game on his show and it seemed pretty cool but he always pretends to love everything that's on his show so who knows. Why does Batman fly, though? That's kinda dumb. He can't do that!

It's free roaming, basically. You aren't forced into missions, you decide when to do them. It's GTAish.

I read a review that said it was more comparable to something like Zelda than GTA. That the "open world" is more of a hub that leads to "dungeon" like areas. I personally much prefer that to a GTA-like world.

Glad to hear it's living up to the hype, Liam. I am super stoked. The first one was the very first PS3 game I played, and it was an amazing experience.

I loved the Riddler Challenges in the last game (I solved 100% of them). I hope they're just as great this time around. Unless they got rid of them, then eff this game!

It's somewhere between Zelda and GTA.

The 'dungeons' or whatever are nowhere near Zelda length but the vast majority of the main quest doesn't happen in the actual city itself, but in Joker/other villains's lairs.

ok, officially more stoked for this game. i was already excited to play it, but the riddler challenges were by far my favorite part of arkham asylum.

Yeah, I know he "glides" but every clip of the game looks like it's basically a way to make Batman fly. Like, once you're gliding can't you go higher in the air still? You couldn't do that shit if you couldn't fly!

You could if you catch the wind! Or, more likely, if you shoot a grappling hook and propel yourself around that way. I haven't seen the clips you're referring to, but I'm guessing a gliding/swinging combo is what you're seeing.

You can dive bomb and then catch the air to go slightly higher, you can't stay in the air indefinitely. Max 20 seconds or so.
