There was also a Closet Fairies tape back a few years ago from some label in Michigan, I think - a collection of previously released stuff or something. I hardly remember what's on it now, though I have two copies of the tape.

haha i saw that in my friends collection the other day. i had no idea it existed.
the live tape was cool, it was recorded the night before we recorded all the songs that mike posted. they sound the exact same i think.

Oh yeah, I have that. It was the dude that was in the band Wormburner (and possibly North Lincoln?) who put that out. He gave me once because I was wearing a Closet Fairies shirt at a show one time.

I think sweet pete from lets pretend did the art on this.

That tape was on a label called Tapes Not Bombs, they recently re-started after stopping for a few years. Yes, Kevin from North Lincoln/Wormburners label.

I am just sour because my tape deck is broken and now there is too much stuff that is exclusive to tape.

Downloading now. Man, Closet Fairies were so damn good. Tried to do a split 7" with them, but they didn't like the other band! Oh well. Those two songs ended up coming out anyway.

Sunnyside.... It was originally planned as a Sunnyside / Underground Railroad To Candyland split 7", but URTC took forever and a day to get tracks. It was about a year later that we just looked for a different band for the b-side. I had just recently heard Closet Fairies and hit them up about it. They weren't into it. They requested Mean Jeans for the flip side - a tall order for short notice, but oh well.

Yeah, so in the meantime Sunnyside did a west coast tour with what was supposed to be Pretty Boy Thorson, but since it was just Jesse and Dave with Brad on drums, they went with a new name for the tour - The Legendary San Diego Chargers - and recorded a few tunes with the three-piece line up. So when it was time to stop waiting on URTC, Sunnyside suggested TLSDC and there ya go.

The two Closet Fairies tracks eventually got released as their "Popular Science" 7".
