yep.

Which of your family members have you considered feeding into the trash compactor and spreading across your country estate for fertilizer, Rally?

The Rolling Stones song "Hang Fire" comes to mind.  The duality of the phrase in the song speaks to a "delay in progress" in the people and attitudes of the people in his sweet home town, yet the phrase "hanging fire" is seemingly Mick wanting to burn most of England.

When I was in college we had a roommate situation where it was me and one guy vs the other 2 dudes we lived with.  They actually went out and bought their own fridge with a lock even though the only food theft was the use of this dude's giant tub of margarine.  It would drive him apeshit if you used it even though it was a giant Sam's club size tub that his mom bought.
Dude, you were just schooled by repoman, who has a sticked thread in his honor at Weasel Acres for being the most colossal dunce we've ever had sully our doorstep.

people don't actually give a shit about their partners with the food thing, right? Sharing bills makes that seem crazy. I could see if you had a recipe in mind maybe though.

My old room mate and I would go shopping together and share the bill unless it was for something that only one of us wanted. But I guess that was weird.

this is pretty much how i operated once i started living with people i liked.  when i lived with bitchy girls who were bitches full of bitchiness, everything was labeled and woe be unto you if you so much as even though about maybe borrowing a tablespoon of sugar that you didn't pay for.

Olive wouldn't go to sleep until after midnight last night, and woke up this morning before 7 a.m.  When I left poor Adam with her, she was a psychotic, emotional wreck who had spent 15 minutes tearfully lamenting that she doesn't get to nurse anymore, demanding all kinds of foods and then telling me there were things wrong with them ("These yogurt bites are too dead, Mom."), begging me to hold her and sing her songs (which I did), etc.  Sometimes I worry about her.  She's SUPER emotional and I don't know if it's just her being 2, a terrible sleeper, and a generally emotional person, or her having some sort of actual problem we need to deal with.  Whatever it is, it's simultaneously heartbreaking and maddening.

that sounds rough, jenna.  but i'd be a liar if i said "these yogurt bites are too dead" didn't make me snarf in my tea.  also, our nephew grady was like this around olive's age - very attached to mommy and had issues if she wasn't in his direct line of sight at all times.  as he's gotten older, while he is still super into hanging out with his mom, it's stopped being so traumatic for him to not be around her but he did regress a bit in the later months of sarah's pregnancy (her 2nd kid just turned 1).

I think a lot of it is the pregnancy, too.  She asks to nurse, says she wants to be my baby, wants to pretend to be a baby complete with goo goo gah gah chatter, etc.  She loves on my belly and talks to her brother all the time, but I think on some level she senses a major change on the horizon and is freaked out by it all.

the other producer i work with is pregnant with twins.  the other day she was kept up all night by her 2 year old screaming and freaking out every few hours.  today she was diagnosed with pink eye.

eeek, she better not give me pink eye!

I painted my bathroom today.  I guess that's not really a homesome, though it did take longer than I thought it would and I totally banged my head against the toilet while trying to paint behind it.

It looks nice.  I've never painted before because I've never lived in an apartment for longer than a year.  I've been at my current place for two years with no plans of moving out any time soon so I figured, "Why not?"

You've posted a picture of that color in action somewhere else on the bored, haven't you?  It's really pretty.

I'm not sure what the color's called.  It's a bluish green, actually not too far off from that Plumage color except it's a bit lighter.  My landlord already had the paint and all so I just went for it.  I want to paint my kitchen eventually too, but when I do that I'm going to be more particular about the color.  I want to do some shade of Sea Foam Green.

The city (I guess? I don't know who) put signs in our yard about a hearing in a couple weeks because some company wants to change zoning or some shit and buy this land to build an apartment complex on. We're gonna get kicked out of the house, huh?

Ten days ago, raw sewage and feces backed up into my apartment. Today, my landlord sends someone to clean it up. Does he think I would just ignore standing sewage in a large area of my apartment for ten days? What the fuck?

Also, my roommate who is moving out is giving me grief about paying bills and now I have to wait like nine hours to go home to check on exactly when the billing period is to convince her not to stick me with double the bill payments.

God, I hate everyone.

My parents are talking about moving and I might move away to study for a while, I've lived in this house and room for my whole life and it makes me a bit sad and I thought this redecorating of the house so we would live here not sell the house.
