Lose some weight Fatzo! (2012 edition)
« on: January 01, 2012, 07:18:01 PM »
Here we go again.

I start at 91 kilograms, which is 1 more than I had last year at this time. Guess that's within the normal range. The weather is quite nice outside (its waaay too warm for this time of the year) so I went out running for the first time in ages. Didn't go too well though. I ran about ~ 1.5 kilometers then walked/paused, ran for another, then gave up. Its never fun when you start again. Guess I'm happy I did it though.
Also, and that's something new- I started running often enough, but never did this before - I started monitoring my calorie intake. Got an app on my phone that seems to work well, and knows a lot of the stuff I eat (which isn't so much to begin with). I hope to be able to limit the food intake now and drop it somewhat. Lets see how that goes.
Plus I spent too much time looking into buying adjustable dumbbells today. Shits expensive, but changing the weights on my old ones is really annoying.

I just bought this exercise bike

(click to show/hide)

I ride it for an hour everyday while playing videogames.
I actually end up exercising for longer, as I'm so captivated by the game that I forget I'm riding.

Sorry, Android and in German. Pretty sure there are others though.

I strongly recommend it for anyone who plays videogames and wants to increase their physical activity.
All my friends are hooked on it too.

going to try to drop 50 lbs within 6 months.  then some more after.  exercise and me missed each other for quite a long time.  gonna stick to veggies and fruits after tonight's dinner.  gotta get back in shape if im gonna lace up those wrestling boots again.
Like, the male animals should be made to wear skirts and wigs and stuff, and the females should go past a line of builders who make cat-calls at them and whistle loudly in their direction.

I find using smaller utensils to be a tremendous benefit.

I can eat a meal in 4 "large spoonfuls" or in 16 "small spoonfuls."
Using smaller utensils helps me to pace myself when eating, which in turn allows sufficient time for my body to release the hormones that tell me I'm full.
(It takes about 15-20 minutes for your stomach to "tell" your brain that it's full)

Yeah, I guess I'm gonna try to lose some weight. I lost about 20 pounds from January to the beginning of December without actively trying. I'll see how much more I've lost when I get back from vacation. I'm going to guess another 15. I don't have an ideal weight I'm shooting for, I just wanna be healthier (read: better looking).

My job and eating out almost every day have caught up with me. I'd like to drop about 12 pounds, but more importantly I'd like to be more active and not feel like a lazy slob.

transitioning from working retail/lifting boxes/being active all the time to working at a desk has made me feel pretty gross. i decided i'm gonna join a gym this week? i don't really have a goal weight or anything, i just feel like walking to work does not equate with the amount of activity i was used to doing and i don't feel as good. there's a retro fitness by me that has a movie room? there's also a ymca thats a lot more expensive but might have nicer equipment. i will decide by friday!
!!!

Wow.  I would not fuck with you.  You went for the total castration.  Points.

i enjoi your post.  the are often trite and overlooked as simpleton rhetoric and salesy and condescending.  but the funny thing, is the information and secret to weight loss is just that simple. people eat too much, and eat too much of the wrong types of things.

15 years ago i was at a doctors appointment - he told me to loose some weight. i was pretty offended and was like what about this "pill and that pill" he said if you get hungry , eat a head of lettuce - its filling and has no calories.  i was super pissed and went into some diatribe about body type and the size of my frame and even called the guy short.

in the last 6 months i've learned that he was 100% right.

I love how fast this thread turns from 'people wanting to lose weight' to 'people who are already a healthy weight giving unsolicited advise.'

if you wanna lose weight, bring your dead baby home from the hospital in a jar and leave it on the dinner table.
I wouldn't go as far as calling them a "gang" (more like fucking morons), but Juggalos, far and away, are the people who cause the most problems in our library.
