This is sad because it means Scherzo will never see their royalties.
Joke all you want, but that Scherzo LP was a pretty decent record, and while I'm not sure if it broke even or made a small profit, it definitely didn't fall far short. In those days we could count on selling about 3,000 copies of most full-lengths we put out in the LP/CS/CD format, and that in turn was around the break-even point, after which bands started getting paid. Some bands, of course, especially if they recorded on the cheap, didn't do full-color covers (that was a big expensive deal back then), etc., could break even on far less than that, maybe even in the 1,500-2,000 range.
