no, the answer is to have well written laws, laws that balance the rights of all parties involved with each other, laws that don't just hand over all power into an badly constructed procedure. and the main critique against SOPA/PIPA has always been that they are not well crafted, and would create procedures that are easy to exploit.

So basically, because the enforcement of any law could hypothetically be abused, we shouldn't craft any laws.  Cool society.

C'mon Toby, you're better than b&g. Don't avoid the argument by setting up straw men.

P.S.- What Marc said.

Like I've written elsewhere in this thread, we send take-down notices all the time to file-sharing services. We are not "freetards" or tools of "Big Data" (Ha ha ha, that phrase still cracks me up. Sorry, I'll stay on topic).

But that doesn't mean that we automatically are in line with the RIAA & the MPAA & the politicians they've donated millions to in Congress. (Not to mention A2IM, who are as far as I know too small to actually donate any significant amount to politicians to move this forward)

LushJ FTW.  There are few things worse than Phil Collins.  Hitler MIGHT be one of them.

Strawman?  B&G?!  This is RIGHT in his wheelhouse.  A fantasy scenario to justify selfish, short-sighted "libertarian" lawlessness.  There are people wrongly imprisoned for murder, should we lift all laws against murder?  Sure!  People have made up their mind on this issue (actually their minds were made up for them), and everyone has their own set of quasi-facts and "information" that back up their hollow argument.  "DNS!"  "Due process!"  It's a canard, so no point in arguing about it.
