Anybody here ever done it? I imagine if I ever did my record would be glued to the turntable the next day, but it sure does look neat!

I'm gonna try this with an old record I don't care about and see how it goes.

it seems like it would work, once the glur solidifies it would pull right off and take all the crud stuck inthe grooves with it.

That's the idea! One would think that it would work with regular glue or rubber cement as well then though.

Rubber cement has acetone in it. I wouldn't put that on a record.

Maybe? Acetone is a pretty strong solvent. I wouldn't fuck around with that on my records.

stupid question:  when following the grooves to clean a record, you should move the brush counter-clockwise around the record, right?

Why do these people put the needle on the record with the turntable spinning?

Really? Why? Seems like it's more likely to damage the record/needle.

I don't think I've ever owned a record player that didn't start spinning before putting the needle down.

I've owned 3 record players and only one started spinning before I put the needle down and it was an old, shitty one.

I've never even thought about putting the needle down before the record is revolving. Weird.

If I tried the wood glue thing, my turntable would probably be ruined and there would be glue all over the center label.

This.

Also, I saw a tutorial about this a while ago but I can't remember where, otherwise I'd link it. I would never try it; I would make a mess and ruin shit.

Less pops, clicks and distortion. Also extends the life of the record.
