Real talk, I'd love it if more punk bands, or pop punk bands would go a little more abstract with their lyrics. More crazy, funny shit. Not novelty stuff, but just... I dunno. I started a band so I could do this. I'm not sure how well that's going.

I'm pretty sure I do this! "Dressed like an orange tree" "The chimp chews your master" which are more metaphors than abstractness, I guess.

not sure if i would consider tenement pop punk but i know alot of people on this board like em, they do alot of relatively abstract and poetic stuff with their words sometimes. not that they dont have love songs and shit like that, i just feel like their lyrics and how it works with the music as a whole stands out so much among most bands.

I gave them a cursory listen once I thought it sounded pretty good. I'll have to listen to them more. I know everybody loves 'em. Humor is paramount, too, though. They don't strike me as a particularly funny band.

Either way, I bet I'd like em if I listened to them more.

I would like to start a P.C punk band.  OUr first album would be typical "Respect women don't call people fags white people suck" shit.  But the next album would be covers of our favorite Nobodys songs.
