If you're not working there's no reason to skip the Super Bowl. It's just dumb. It's like skipping Thanksgiving. Super Bowl Sunday is probably the 3rd or 4th most important holiday in America.

You're supposed to go out and have fun. Even if you don't care about a particular event, if 75% of everyone else does the atmosphere that results should allow you to have fun. Stuff yourself with wings. Drink some beer. Hang out with friends. Watch the commericals and terrible half time show that everyone will be talking about tomorrow. Mabye the game will be ok, too.

Replace football with gymnastics, but leave the event intact, and I'd still watch.

but most of my friends also don't care about it. and we have errands to run. it'll be convenient getting things done while most people in the neighborhood are at home watching TV

I'm going house hunting, looking somewhere to move in next summer. hopefully somewhere with a basement or cool neighbors so we can put on house shows.

then going to a record store, ill probably buy a HWM record in anticipation of them playing SXSW next month. maybe Caution.
