Any fans here? The beginning  of the premiere was awesome and the episode was right up there. The kiss was over the top and unnecessary but still funny.

I thought it was a great, great episode.  My girlfriend cried withen the first two minutes because Jim was gone, and therefore, Jim and Pam will obviously never get married and have Office babies.

You can download the episode at

He's not gone from the show.  You find it out withen the first couple minutes of the show, and you should already know it if you saw the season 2 finale.

Ohhh, okay.  I didn't really follow season 2 very closely.  Don't get me wrong, it was hilarious, I just rarely watch tv.  I don't even watch the few shows I actually enjoy (The Office, My Name Is Earl, Family Guy, and some HBO shows).

am i the only one who really dislikes the jim/pam romance on this show?

(in fact, i just wrote about it today!  http://bananaseat.diaryland.com)

they are both boring, and have no ambition and are pretty depressing, and barely know each other.  i find it weird to root for them.  i did love how in the UK one, the same couple was basically depressed and miserable and realized even making out wouldn't fix those things.
Why are you're being blithely, ignorantly argumentative?

i just don't get what would be so awesome about making out with the funny guy a the office who i barely know, and who has basically nothing going on in his life.

that would only end in sadness!

(in the german version the couple is together and make out under their desks.  the germans have no patience for will they/won't they storylines and neither do i!)

Maybe HE'S got nothing going on in his life because he's willing to stick around just to make HER happy!
He DID encourage HER to persue other things though (like the art fellowship), so he strikes me as kind of a "do what I gotta do" kinda guy.

I also like Michaels semi-sub-plot of being so painfully socially awkward, if that's the best way to describe it.

ah i am a huge fan of the jim/pam romance... like when she kissed him at the dundee awards I got really excited, when they had their "first date" with the grilled cheeses and fly candles i felt really good......so yeah when i saw the s2 finale i about had a heart attack

lets see, this season premiere was okay.....not as funny as it could have been, but good

just about all of season 2 was amazing so i have very high expectations for season 3

But the point is that they have boring office jobs. They're finding the one bright part in otherwise dreary lives.

And you know what would be great?  If one of them, particularly the dashingly charming dude went out of his way to cheer up the gal while at said boring job, while simulatenously encouraging her to persue something she enjoys.  That would be awesome!

I feel like you're being overly cynical here.

I also think that the writers on this show are smart enough not to continue a will they/won't they thread further than it should go.

honestly i don't like the show much, in general.  but i liked the overall feeling of sadness and depression that loomed over the UK version that i think the writers have really flubbed up in this version.  i like it better more depressing!

American and British shows have different tones. The show wouldn't be such a hit here if it were so depressing.

The writing on this show is pretty consistently great; that's why I trust the Jim/Pam storyline.
