Is Kimbo Slive an MMA guy? As not into this stuff as I am, I watched a few of his fights with a bit of shocked horror but I  could not look away. I hear he will be in the first fight on CBS whenever they start airing this stuff.

Or is he involved in something completely different? That MILF Hunter sure knows how to pick his security.

he fought tank abbot a few weeks ago, and won. tank is 44.

kimo certianly is a mean bastard.  but until they have him fight a "current" mma fighter like say frank mir...we won't know if he has the goods.  so for now they are making money off his internet fame andtrying to build a brand.  what sux is its the big time westling aspect creeping into the sport.

yes, kinbo fights in a Mixed Martial Arts league called xlete xc which is owned by showtime and just got the deal to air on network tv.(must piss off the UFC,who's deal with HBO fell apart)
as far as kinbo fighting someone of mir's ability we wont see that for a long, long time.kimbo has had only a couple fights and is just learning basics(although from one of the best strikers in the game,Bas Rutten) and you want him to go against world champion level fighters already? He'll be lucky to beat that too dumb to quit frank shamrock.

On more exiting news though brock lessner is gonna be fighting mark coleman at ufc 87 in august in front of a hometown cround here in minneapolis!I can't wait!

yeah, I don't see anyone beating anderson silve anytime soon, who could he possibly fight next?
apparently he is considering moving to 205 at some point, which may prove to be more interesting, but who can really beat him?

My sister used to compete in competitive collaging. Her N'Sync collage really impressed her art teacher at school. This Brock Lesner must be talented!

Thats because kimbo is a boxer. why he doesnt just do boxing is beyond me.
The reason i never got into MMA is because of the ground fighting. I was going to start up with my friends but backed out and instead tried to get into kick boxing.
seumas took photos of my wiener.
He takes pictures of everyones weiners
sheesh, you always think your something special

all this GSP/sera talk is getting me worked up. next fight night is 4/2/08-joe lauzon vs kenny florian.
should be sweet.I kinda want joe to win,but kenny finishes fights with those brutal elbows and went the distance with sherk. tough call.

next PPV is sherk/penn-cant wait! lets see the muscle shark bring the belt back to the twin cities! sherk by decision. we'll see if bj shows up in shape-he looked against stevenson and says he want to cement his place in the sport. a big win here will help do that and reaffirm his spot at 155.

Bite yer fuckin' tongue, old man!  Lauzon is gonna repeat his Jens Pulver performance.  And BJ Penn is just gettin' started...

I think this is a first for us...on opposite ends of these match-ups.

Fuck that roided out cheatin' fuck.

Not really.  Sherk's alright, but Penn's been one of my faves for YEARS now.  He shoulda been champ WAY the fuck back when.  He got robbed during the first Pulver fight and the draw with Caol Uno was just ridiculous.  Regardless, it's gonna be a great fight.

So you're takin' Sherk the Jerk?  Let's make it interesting.  Nothing too crazy.  Just a little somethin'-somethin', ya feel me?  We'll discuss this in Chicago.  You're goin', right?  Reports say yay.

the group of guys I watch the PPVs with have a pretty fun betting system. its secret ballot and each fight you have until the bell to get your picks in.we pick who we think will win, what method(just from TKO,submission,or decision)and what round. 2 points for the right fighter,1 each for round/method. person with the most total at the end gets the pot.( for us,usually 5 bucks each with about half a dozen dudes watching.)
in case of tie,its to whoever is still in it to pick either chopping the pot,or letting it go to a dark match.

of corse side bets abound as well. I have 20 on sherk and if the fedor/couture fight happens this year,I have 100 on fedor.

I wasn't even thinking money, but this is a nice little system you guys got.  All of my MMA-watching buddies live on the other side of the country.  And Rally, but that's only the two of us.  If we each throw five on an event, it's not much of a payoff.  When I join the west coasters this summer, perhaps we'll institute this system of yours.  Sounds like a fun way to waste 5-10 dollars/win 50-100 dollars.
