No, I don't.  Dude's kicks are fuckin' BRUTAL.  I think his overall striking is second only to Silva.  Le put on a clinic against Tony Fryklund.  It impressed me to no end.

     JA

I dunno if I'm buying it yet man. I don't know if I'm ready to take statements like that about a dude whose toughest opponent's been Tony Fyklund. I do agree his striking is pretty great though.

Also, on the topic of Jens Pulver, did anyone else LOVE the Pulver-Swanson fight as much as me? Swanson talked all this shit, saying that Jens was ducking him and everything. Pulver seemed like such a nice guy the whole time, and then he finishes Swanson for a minute, looks at the camera, starts yelling "FUCK YOU, I'M JENS PULVER".

That's cool.  I mean, Fryland's not the greatest fighter, but I still say those strikes are sick.  We'll see tonight!

     The Pulver/Swanson fight WAS awesome.

Pulver points down to Swanson: FUCK YOU!

Pulver points to Swanson's corner: FUCK YOU!

Pulver points to the camera: FUCK YOU!

Hilarious!  The Faber fight should be a repeat of this...hopefully.

I'm not a fan of Faber, and I like Pulver a lot, so it hurts me to say I don't think Jens can take this one.

also, Coleman looks like an old wrinkly ballsack, but he hasn't shown his age in the ring/cage yet. The only ones to beat him in Pride were Cro Cop, Nog and Fedor I believe. If he beats Lesnar I'd hardly be surprised.

I don't know what this means.

Anyway, Cung Le's kicks were the deciding factor.  Shamrock kept blocking the high kick with his arm and Le ultimately broke it.  The first three rounds were great.  I wish it would've went a little further.

Villasenor's knockout was pretty good.  Wayne Cole, who I'd never seen prior to tonight, looked good for the minute he fought.  Drew Fickett is one of the most annoying people I've ever seen in MMA.

Kimbo Slice and Robbie Lawler are fighting on CBS at the end of May.  MMA on network TV.  Crazy.  The closest they've come to that is SpikeTV and FX.  Lawler's defending his title.  No word on who Kimbo's fighting.

What was with Kimbo's shirt?!   ???

Good fights tonight.  The commentators are still the worst in the business.

I don't know what this means.  It means after the mugging and schtick  there is a odd ending....

What was with Kimbo's shirt?!   ???  Garth Brooks called and said Kimbo forgot the Hat...

Good fights tonight.  The commentators are still the worst in the business.  Agree!

Rally, it's Frank Shamrock.  Of COURSE there's gonna be mind games and bullshit in the ring.  That stopped after the second round though.  And if it didn't, it came to a crashing halt after Le caught Shamrock's leg and kicked his other leg out from under him, dumping Shamrock to the mat like he was toying with a five year old.

Did you watch it?  Some of your comments lead me to believe you did, but others do not.

Penis-ass?!  Nice!  I've been slandered by many a term, Mr. Rally, but this is a first!

I hear you on the "Don King" shit.  I think EliteXC tries to overcompensate to seem like they're big shit.  If they'd lose the over-dramatic comentators and booty dancers and promo shenanigans they'd be alot better off.

Apprently, this thing on CBS is supposed to be long-running.  They're showing them every other Saturday.  It's so weird to me.  As little as 7 years ago this shit was banned from Pay-Per-View.  Now it's on network TV.

Word is Lawler is fighting Baroni. Easy win for Lawler, and kinda disappointed about it but I guess Baroni is still a name that some people know. Word is Kimbo might fight Ron Waterman. I'd actually be impressed if Kimbo makes easy work of Ron Waterman.

the Le/Shamrock fight was great. I watched the ref cam stream on the website. I can't believe Frank didn't try to bring it to the ground. I also couldn't believe Frank not even covering up and just pounding on Le in the 3rd, but it was definitely Cung's fight.

     Lawler will destroy Baroni.

Ron Waterman?  Hmmm.  It's more of a challenge, but I think Kimbo will roll through him.  I haven't seen a lot of Waterman's fights.  I saw his early fights in the UFC and I saw him get KO'd by Cro-Cop.  It doesn't seem like he does much.  He fights like once a year.  Meh...

ok,so besides the GSP/Sera bout,we have some pretty cool matches tonight.

lutter/franklin-looks like it will be franklin trying to keep it standing and going for a tko while lutter will be going for the submission. franklins coming off some hard losses, will he be in the right mental frame for lutter? I think so. Franklin tko.

Bisbing and Danzig should both get tko's.

nate quary vs kalib. havent seen too much of these guys in a while. kalib might be able to bring nate to the ground, but I dont see tonight being a good one for submissions. the rock by tko.

I hope they show the macdonald fight from the undercard. that or the shortbus herman fight.

I'm a big fan of Kalib Starnes, and I'd like to see him rebound from that cut loss to Belcher. I wish Bisping and Danzig had better opponents. I am kinda excited to see how much stronger Bisping looks at middleweight. Lutter-Franklin, I'm picking Lutter. I've gone back and forth on it a couple times, and it's a really tough one to call, but I'm taking Lutter. He's a big dude with phenomenal ground skills and I don't think Franklin's standup negates it enough. Then again I picked every fight wrong but one on the Fight Night.

If I only get to see one undercard fight, Maia-Herman, easy. I'm going with Maia. and if I had to pick, I'm taking McDonald but fucking GO Doerkson.

I recently started training in Chum Sut which is has elements of BJJ and wrestling amongst other things. I can't wait to be decent enough to start fighting properly.

I was just gonna post something like this. I'm losing confidence in my Lutter pick, but I THINK I'm still leaning towards him. It's easy to forget Franklin is a strong dude with good submissions (and therefore, submission defense)

oh yeah man, I've sorta been doing BJJ (more like an MMA class with a focus on BJJ/grappling, and one day of just BJJ) for the past couple months. Mostly just to stay/get back into shape, but it's a blast.

well I sucked. Lutter will never be a contender because all he does is gas like a douchebag. In the second round he looked like me after running a mile. But I'll be damned if he didn't WHOOP ASS in round one. Starnes was fucking awful and Quarry was hilarious, and hopefully Serra moves down to a successful career at 155. Did you catch them showing the end of Maia/Herman as Submission of the Night? Maia was beating the fucking shit out of him. MacDonald beat Doerkson too.

But listen here, fuck Sherk, BJ's gonna slither around him all night until he finds the way to finish it, and Wanderlei's gonna fuck up Jardine because he's not gonna wait to counter like Chuck did. I don't really want to touch Tito/Machida with a ten foot pole. I'm not gonna count Ortiz out though, at all.

If GSP wins,I will eat MY SOCKS.

oops.I meant SOCKS.

loved seeing shortbus getting his face pounded.big win for the athlete too.nice.
I'm a little worried now that BJ is supposedly taking training seriously these days, but I still see Sherk by GNP in the 4th or decision.
I got the ax murderer by knocking the hall monitor of mean's block off,but I'm gonna wait to call tito/machita as well. tito's last ufc fight,he's gonna want it bad. we'll see.

edit: now lets make way for the next welterweight champ-Jon Fitch.

  - FEDOR ANNOUNCES FIGHT WITH SYLVIA IS OFFICIAL
Friday, April 18, 2008 - by Damon Martin - MMAWeekly.com

Fedor Emelianenko announced on Friday via his personal website that he has officially signed to fight Tim Sylvia on July 19 in the United States. MMAWeekly.com has since confirmed the bout with independent sources.

The announcement did not mention a specific show, but previous sources have indicated that it will be a promotion headed by clothing giant Affliction.

The news on his website also stated that Fedor has signed on for two more fights to take place later this year in October and December, although no particular opponent or organization was named for either fight.

The fight in December is set to take place in Japan on one of the New Year’s Eve shows, as Fedor plans on celebrating his sixth year in a row overseas.

This will be Fedor’s first fight since submitting Hong Man Choi at the Yarennoka event in Japan on New Year’s Even 2007, while Sylvia will face his first challenge since exiting the Ultimate Fighting Championship after being its champion on two separate occasions

Fedor by armbar,1st round.
