This might be your first useful thread.

One sentence reviews.

Immortal Technique - Revolutionary Vols 1 and 2. Both excellent.
Death Cab For Cutie - the first three records. I like the newer albums better, but these are good too.
Arctic Monkeys - the new one. I know, shut up, its not bad.
Copryights - Learn The Hard Way. This shit rules.
TBR - Warning Device. Still growing on me.
Lemuria - Get Better. I like the first song, but Im kind of disappointed.

I always thought the first record was their best by a mile.  I've only met one other person that agrees with me though.  Which album do you think is the best?

I REALLY REALLY like Plans. I got into the Postal Service first and I think I heard Transantlanticism after that, but Plans is the first album of theirs I bought and its awesome all the way through.

These are taking a little while to grow on me.

I'm drowning in new cds.  Of course it helps that I get all of them for free.

Regal Beagle - A Little Tide Up  Very Weaselcore with surfy harmonies. Gotta listen some more but I like it so far.

Textbook - Boxing Day Massacre  Power pop. Only listened to this once so far but I liked it

Gay For Johnny Depp - insane screaming nonsense, but they're huge in the UK

God Fires Man - A Billion Balconies Facing The Sun - Imagine if the Smashing Pumpkins were still making amazing records.

Tim Fite - Fair Ain't Fair   More pop and less hip hoppy than his earlier cds.  Still growing on me.

Be Your Own Pet - Get Awkward    Christian and I disagree on this one; he likes it, I think they're a one-trick pony and most of the songs sound exactly the same.  I'll listen to it a few more times.

Switches - Lay Down Law    UK band that rips off Ziggy-era Bowie, Bolan, and Queen. It's amazing.  I really  like it but I dont think Universal is spending any money to promote it in the US.  You should check  out "Drama Queen" on  myspace.com/weareswitches

In the mail for review yesterday...

Friendly Fire - Demo 2008 - Haven't listened yet. They toured with Delay so I bet they're good.
A Pride of Acrobats - Acrobats - Dance punk from Singapore.
A Caesar Holiday - s/t - Haven't listened to it yet, but the press sheet says "post-punk avant-garde.",  "Mostly instrumental, featuring lots of violin.", and something else about prog-rock structure. Bleh.

With this and the Jersey Beat stuff, I'll be busy all day today.

I was just leant every Deadguy release. I forgot how great that band was. Chris Pierce should reunite them for the fest.
Vagina tastes like Raisinettes.  Obviously you don't have a lot of experience with the ladies.

I actually had some spending money the last couple months and, aside from the couple newer releases...I upgraded a few from cassette and bought a few that I used to have.

New:
The Blood 'False Gestures...' (Captain Oi reissue)
Copyrights 'Learn The Hard Way'
The Accused 'Return Of Martha Splatterhead'
The Accused 'More Fun Than An Open Casket Funeral'
Elliott Smith 'XO'

Used:
Fugazi 'End Hits'
Fugazi 'In On The Killtaker'
High Tension Wires 'Midnight Cashier'
Mummies 'Death By Unga Bunga'
Under Pressure 'Come Clean'
AC/DC 'Fly On The Wall'
Avail 'Dixie'
Sense Field 'Killed For Less'

I can't remember the last cd I bought.  I stole the new Copyrights from somewhere, and I'll probably physically steal it when I go on tour with them.
I've been really into getting a pair of boat shoes.

i love every song on the lemuria LP
they all flow together really, really well

the only CDs i've gotten recently are the dead mechanical set from insub fest and the crafty "thanks for the floor" comp

There's 1 song i'm not fond of, but I'm loving this.  the song i don't like kinda has an "Alice in Chains but more shitty" vibe to it.
Doom is intense. For like, the 12 seconds it lasts.
I CONSTANTLY BLOW DUDES.

the lemuria album is awesome.  if DCFC can grow on you, so can this.

i just recently ordered The Mice - Scooter cd.  can't wait for it to come.  Bill Fox is probably my favorite singer/songwriter.
