Levi vs Chad  Round 2

Levi
Figurines - Wrong Way All the Way - This isn't doing anything for me.  It's not really rocking all that hard, but it's not doing anything all that offensive.  This is coming off as very vanilla.  Meh.  5/10

Chad
Jay Reatard - It's So Easy - This is some pretty good lofi.  I haven't taken the time to check Jay Reatard out, but I know I've heard better tunes.  Good, not great.  6/10

Levi 0
Chad 2

Chad, you had to defeat some real superstars to make it all the way to the final round.  Congrats.

Levi, you're like the George Mason of this tournament.  I never in a million years would have picked you to make it to the final 4.  You've got a fantastic station.

This is thrilling!!! I just came back from my walk and got all caught up.
I'm pretty excited to have gotten past Shotzi and M Welch - no easy task.

I hope I can bring my A game in the finals.

MWelch
Sick Sick Birds - Marathon Monk - I've never hear this track before.  Enjoyable, but once again, it doesn't come close to sounding as good as what I've heard on the new album.  Are there guest vocals on this track?  I swear I hear some vocals I don't recognize.  I dig the bass.  Hmm, the longer this song goes, the more I like it.  Really comes together strong at the end.  7/10

That's just me and Melissa singing. Melissa playing the sweet bass. Way to go, Melissa!

Wow!  I hadn't been keeping up with this thread very well because I thought that I had been eliminated already.  Now here I am, facing off against Mike Hall for the win.  This is going to be an interesting match.  Mike and I have two very different stations.

Starting this now.  I had a piss poor lunch, so I'm in a shitty mood.  I demand greatness, or else...

Mike Hall vs Chad  Round 1

Mike Hall
The Pleasers - A Girl I Know (Precis of a Friend) - Mike Hall is pulling some obscure bullshit here.  This is some UK pop band from back in the 70s that I'm sure no one has given a shit about for the last 30 years.  Meh.  5/10

Chad
Buddy Holly - Rock Me My Baby - Yes!  This is exactly what I need right now Chad.  Love the backing vocals in the song.  8/10

Mike Hall 0
Chad 1

Mike Hall vs Chad  Round 2

Mike Hall
Jimi Hendrix - Manic Depression - Not one of my favorite Hendrix tunes.  The bass is a bit too plodding.  Still, even so so Jimi is pretty god damn great.  7/10

Chad
Chinese Telephones - I Can't Be Right - Not really doing anything for me.  Where are to killer hooks?  The chorus is coming off as flat.  I'm not hearing anything memorable here.  Meh.  5/10

Chad 1

Dang!  That's one of the catchier Chinese Telephones songs too.

Mike Hall vs Chad  Round 3

Mike Hall
Trusty - No One - This song is bursting with all kinds of energy.  I love the chorus.  Hell, I love everything about this song.  8/10

Chad
Municipal Waste - Blood Drive - It's the fucking championship round and Chad pulls some thrash metal.  Not a smart strategy Chad.  God I hate these screaming vocals.  4/10

Mike Hall 2
Chad 1

Congratulations to Mike Hall for winning Cleptic's Search for the Ultimate Station.  I don't know how many matches you were in, but I know it was a hell of a lot.  In the end, I wasn't all that surprised by the outcome.  Whenever I listen to someones station at work, it's usually yours.  This is the part when I post some fancy .gif of a trophy, but I don't have one.  Sorry.

Chad, coming in second in a tournament this huge is still something to be proud of.  I enjoyed the hell out of your station.

Well, I still get the satisfaction of winning the first round with a song that contains the lyrics "rocka-locka rocka-locka hickory dock".  Plus, it was an accomplishment just to get a chance to face Mike Hall!
