joe said they just learned it before the show. one of the bands playing was called no action, which i think everyone assumed was a costello reference. but judging from the crappy music those guys played, i'm guessing they didn't name their band after costello.

We need lineups from the Cougars and the Gremlins! Wicket says he is busy at work, so someone from the Cougs needs to step up, yo?

Hi, dre. I'm about to DL some stuff. The Fix and Annihilation Time lps both came with free digital DLs of the complete albums, so I want to grab those tracks before I forget about them.

What can I say? I go to a city with decent record stores and I go crazy.

Note: the "Nigeria Special" comps are fantastic.

Tip of the hat.

I need to go to the larger record stores here in Portland with more vinyl sections and selections. Maybe I'll do that this weekend. I always end up at the same small record store with a sparse vinyl selection. But it's right by my school and gets in several new releases on LP on the day they are released (which is a big deal to me).

Meghan's choice of hotels was my downfall this weekend. The guesthouse/b&b she selected for us was located on Newbury Street, directly across the street from the original Newbury Comics record store. They don't sell any used vinyl, but the variety of new pressings was astonishing. I couldn't help myself, Welch.

Tell me about it. Immediately after getting my paltry loan check, I blew $30 on records that I only sort of wanted. You know, in a way that just fills some holes in your collection. And since, I've ordered a few things online. I have to stop, or go to stores with a larger used section.

Doing a DJ thing every month sort of propels you into buying records. You sort of feel like you HAVE to get some new things to play the next gig. It's really stupid.

Yeah, Newbury Comics is pretty great. When I would visiting my grandmother's house on Cape Cod as a young lad, the family would make trips up to Boston and I used to blow all of my summer earnings there on shitty punk records.

I actuallyp popped in there again a couple of months ago, and they still had a lot of great records. I didn't buy anything though, which was kinda hard to do.
