What's for DINNER?!?
« on: September 16, 2008, 06:54:09 PM »
I'm going to Harold's Chicken Shack, the greatest chicken place in the world. I'm going as long as I can find it, that is. I'm going to get a half dark with hot sauce and a Royal Crown, and then I'm going to watch an old Russian movie. Ain't nothing gonna break my stride. Ain't nothing gonna slow me down. Oh no (oh no), I've got to keep on mooooving.

Peace, MAGGOT WORMS! <------- (pretty cool way to sign off, huh? Not fucking stupid at all)

Ha, this is funny. Me getting on a train and riding it to a chicken place, then riding it to the movies, and coming back is not lazy relative to what I normally would do. So, so sad. Pretty spot on, though.

I got some Yellowtail Shiraz (and a bottle of Merlot as well, but I'm not drinking that bottle tonight) and I'm making some bitchin' ravioli.

Probably going to be better than pizza.

I grilled some bratwurst that I first boiled in a mixture of beer and onions that were sauteed in butter. Put them on a bun. Topped with kraut and mustard. Ate the shit outta 3 of them.

holy crap, that sounds amazing.

Ok, there is a back story to my dinner.

I was running today when a bug flew out of nowhere and INTO my right eye.  I rubbed my eye and could kind of see him stuck to my eyelashes.  (Think Aeon Flux intro).  Then I rubbed my eyes and he was no longer in vision.  I ran for a few more miles, high fiving some other runners that I passed.  Then I went back to my school, and ended up getting sucked into a conversation with a co-worker, and decided it was too late to worry about hitting up the grocery store for some lettuce (I was going to make myself a salad to go with my dinner), and that it would also be late to start dinner.  I planned to get Taco Bell instead.  Now, the Taco Bell is about 2 miles down the road from me, so I would pass my house, and go to the drive thru, and then go home and eat.  Well, I was about a mile from my house and was stopped in traffic.  I looked into the review mirror and noticed the BODY SECTION OF THE BUG trapped in the white part of my eye.  I had contacts in, so I carefully tried to kind of touch that part of my eye to hope the bug would stick to my finger.  It didn't work out.  Traffic started moving again, and I had to start driving again.  I was really grossed out and tried to just rub my eye while driving, but that didn't seem to dislodge the remains of the insect.  I finally decided I NEEDED to get home, take my contact out, and then try to get the bug remains out of my eye.  I had to kind of poke around (GROSS!) and I was concerned that the bug corpse would go under an eyelid, or beneath my eye ball.  Finally, I trapped it in that part nearest to your nose and it came out.  I was too grossed out and tired, so I just made microwave chimichangas, and had a side of potato chips.  Yuck!

You make the "momsiest" dinners.  :)  I feel like you make Adam clean his plate before he gets the pudding cup.

the chimichangas weren't too bad, actually.  I put tobasco sauce on them for a little kick.
