Why does Mexican food smell good when you cook it, and absolutely terrible when you microwave it?  Microwaved taquitos are one of the worst smells in the world.

I've never had microwaved mexican food.  I don't really think I want to.

Did you ever notice that sometimes a person's crotch smells like a packet of Fire Sauce from Taco Bell?  What's up with that?

You guys!  I don't know what to do for dinner!

Should I just eat a salad?  Or should I go get a burrito from that damned Q-Doba?  What about pizza?

I feel like a sandwich would be nice, but I don't know where to get a good one.  And I don't feel like eating at a bar alone.

What do I do?!

drink at a bar alone.

when i do this, i typically run into someone i know.  and they want to know what i'm doing there, alone.  i lie, and make simple justifications, but i always end up feeling pathetic.

I was planning on making a succotash of cow beans (like blackeyed peas but green?) sweet corn, bacon, cherry tomatoes and basil, but it's taking way too long to shuck these stupid beans.

are you talking about pre-made, frozen mexican food?  i'm trying to figure out what you mean.  mike used to make trader joe's frozen burritos a lot and i never noticed them smelling bad.

Hot Pockets filled with pepperoni, sauce, and maybe a little cheese, depending on how the Hot Pocket maker was feeling that day. I will watch Weeds DVR'ed, House, perhaps Fringe as people were talking about it and I have yet to see it, and drink 4 Boddingtons. Then I will sleep like a baby.

please report back as to the taste. I just got food stamps(it's really a credit card looking thing I swipe and then put in my pin, guess they don't want poor people feeling bad about themselves or something) and can buy anything that's not from the deli. So I just buy tons of frozen foods and pita bread and huumuus. I really can never think of anything to buy at the store. Hot pockets and California Pizza Kitchen BBQ Chicken pizza are my main go to's and I always enjoy them no matter the time of day.

I went to the one on Wabash. I was seeing a movie in the Loop, anyway. It's the only one I can locate other than the one in Hyde Park.

Anyway, I made a total ass out of myself. Got a mixed order with hot sauce, no coleslaw. I didn't see any fountain drinks behind the counter and when she asked if I wanted a drink, I said I would just get one out of the machine in the corner. Then I tried and it would take my dollar. Some old guy in the corner was all, "What's the matter? Won't take your dollar?" I said, "Yeah, but it's okay." He said, "Just get one from her!" pointing to the girl at the register. I was embarrassed and said, "No that's okay." Then some other guy asks the guy talking to me, "What's his problem?" He said, "Machine wouldn't take his dollar!" He's all, "I've got four quarters, here you go!" then he comes up and gives them to me for a dollar. Then, to make this story short, I took that guys order by accident because they didn't say we had the same order. It was stupid. Delicious, though.

I went to a Cuban restaurant with my wife and a group of friends. Shared some Plantains and Guacamole, and ordered an awesome plate of Ropa Vieja (shredded skirt steak), black beans, and rice for myself. Oh and a strong-ass mojito and some Brazilian beer called Xingu Black, which was very impressive.
Dude, you were just schooled by repoman, who has a sticked thread in his honor at Weasel Acres for being the most colossal dunce we've ever had sully our doorstep.

Yeah, it's fucked up. I like Popeye's plenty, too, though.

my issue is that popeye's is totally cheaper than harold's. harold's is kinda pricey, honestly.

if they were the same price, i might be inclined to give the nod to harold's, but SHIT AIN'T LIKE THAT. IT'S REAL FUCKED UP.

Harold's is pricey? Seriously? Four pieces, fries, and coleslaw for seven bucks doesn't seem all that pricey to me, even compared to Popeye's. This was my first time at Harold's in 4 years, though. The menu didn't really sink in.
