SEEDING ANNOUNCEMENT

As you know, the winners of each regional rhumba will square off in a 16-person tournament.
I have decided that the tournament seeding will be done based on the average score of each player in the rhumba. Highest average score gets the top seed, and so forth.
Tiebreakers:
1. Most 10's
2. Most strikeout pitches (8-10's)
3. Lowest score
4. Most scores of 5 or lower

Ye Olde Worlde Regional Rhumba

Low score for each round gets eliminated.

Old World
Blue Bullets
Soapy Mofo
Hot Rod
Marc - eliminated Round 1.
Milo
Joe Timebomb

Round 1:
Blue Bullets: Teenage Bottlerocket "Bottlerocket" - Hmm, I think I like this better than any song I've heard by this band. 6/10
Soapy Mofo: Madness "One Step Beyond" - I love this song. Madness was a really good band. 8/10
Hot Rod: Go Sailor "Fine Day for Sailing" - I think I've liked pretty much every song I've heard by this band (usually hear them on Jettrocks station). The singer sounds a lot like Belinda Carlisle on this song. Pretty cool. 7/10
Marc: Groovie Ghoulies "She Gets All the Girls" - This is pretty ho hum. I'm finding this run to be of the mill. 5/10
Milo: Black Flag "Wasted" - This is one of my favorite Black Flag songs. 9/10
Joe Timebomb: The Wedding Present "Pleasant Valley Sunday" - Ha, this is a Monkees cover. It's actually really good. I like this. 7/10

Marc is eliminated. That was a really solid round. I'm impressed with the Old World Region so far.

Should I complete each Regional Rhumba in its entirety before moving on?
Or should I do everyone's first round before moving on to Round 2?

Preferences?

I would suggest doing everyone's first round.  Otherwise, people in the later regions will have to wait a very long time before they can take part.

Package is clearly out of her god damn mind.  I provided an solid reason as to why you should do a first round for each region.  All she did was blah blah blah.

Rhumba of Effing Orcas - PACIFIC NORTHWEST

Pacific Northwest
M Welch
Christ Crusher
Taco Jeff
Grendel
MW
Nicole - eliminated Round 1.

M Welch: Hot Snakes "Past Lives" - Most songs off of Automatic Midnight will do well with me. This is no exception. 7/10
Christ Crusher: Wire "Ex Lion Tamer" - The quality of songs I have heard in Rhumba competition has been very good today, people. 10/10
TacoJeff: Gamits "I Named Her Christina" - I recognize that these guys were proficient as chickens, but I never enjoy their songs. This reminds me of the Oneders hit song in that Tom Hanks movie, but with the fast circus beat over parts of it and over the top back up vocals. It ends up sounding like Lagwagon to me. 5/10
Grendel: Desaparecidos "Manana" - I've never heard this. It reminds me of a cross between Weezer and the first At the Drive In record. I'd like to hear more of this band. 6/10
M.W.: Tape and Wire "I Will Not Sound the Alarm" - This is not one of the Tape & Wire songs that I normally listen to. Hmmm, this is an acoustic one with some cool buzzy guitar in there too. I don't know. I don't think he's pulling the melody off very well. He's kinda out in the open without drums or distortion, and I think the lyrics are kinda iffy in spots and he isn't quite nailing the notes. Sing it again! 5/10
Nicole: The Weakerthans "Diagnosis" - This sounds like TMBG. The vocals are annoying me. 4/10

Nicole is eliminated.
