Just going to do a small, head to head (best to 3) tournament. No seeds or anything, just a straight up tournament.

Marshall v Mugsy

Marshall: Swing Ding Amigos- Akkurikane- What the hell does the song title mean? Anyway, this is some very fast garage rock 'n' roll. I like it, but I won't remember in a few minutes. 6/10

Mugsy: Banner Pilot- Spit It Out- Spitting is an accurate description of the vocal style. One of my favourite bands of this style of punk rock. 7/10

Marshall: For Science- Swan Song- This EP never stops being brilliant, and in particular this song. 8/10

Mugsy: Streetlight Manifesto- Day in, day out- Yeah, I'm not in the mood for ska right now. Or in a good while actually. This is so-so anyway. 5/10

Marshall: Frank Turner- Substitute- Great song from a great album. This is a real singalong. I can't wait to see him live again in September (and a new album too!). 9/10

Mugsy: Witches With Dicks- Whopper for the Copper- Hmmm. Yeah, this isn't Frank Turner. 6/10

Marshall wins 2-1 and goes through. Commiserations, Mugsy, you had a 10 up next too!

Billy v Dave Ninja

Billy: Blue Cheer- Out of focus- Some old '60s rock band I've never heard of. This isn't bad. Not totally my thing, but I wouldn't say no to hearing more by them. 6/10

Dave Ninja: Screeching Weasel- Three Sides- Short, sharp and punky. It's far from the best on 'Anthem' but most of 'Anthem' would fail to get less than a 7 from me. 7/10

Dave Ninja: Soviettes- Tailwind- Something just blew my face off! Dammit, I really should just go and buy a Soviettes LP, I love everything I've heard on Last FM. 8/10

Hanny v Greg

Hanny: Steinways- Carrie Goldberg- An awesome song, one of my Steinways favourites. It's a poorly recorded live version, so a couple of points deducted. 7/10

Greg: Varsity Weirdos- Correspondency- This band's vocals are great. This song is allright, would have preferred something off the It's Alive 7". 6/10
