complain about things at your job.

we go by the time on our phones. the time on our network/computers is 10 minutes faster than the the time on our phones. the time on the network resets everynight so there's no point in chaning it.

at least once a week i'll think "oh sweet, it's time to head home. Wait, shit, no it isn't. I have ten more minutes."

1) our receptionist is out of town, so somebody is coming in early all week to help answer the phones
2) two sales people leave for lunch together for an hour and a half, and didnt punch out
3) five minutes after they get back from lunch they call the girl covering the phones to help them out with their sales calls... leaving only me to answer the phones

Somehow, I ended up in charge.  Which, generally, is all fine and dandy, but it means I get to field questions like:

Can I copy something if it's been folded once?
How do I turn up the volume on this computer?
Do you want me to continue working on the one task that you assigned me to complete that I have not yet completed?  I figure since its a new day, you'll tell me to stop, despite the incomplete status of the project.

Plus I sit in the corner, facing the wall, and the way everyone gets my attention is by leaning on the back of my chair so that I almost fall out.  Every time.

The college girl they gave me to do my work gave me a bunch of leftover sushi with only one soy sauce packet and no real depression in the tray in which the soy sauce could pool for dipping.

I have sort of the opposite going on where our computer/phone clocks are 4-5 minutes behind the clock that sits above our timesheet, which is our "official" timer.  So, yeah, I get to leave "early" everyday.  I'd say it rules, but that would be an embarassing thing to say!
I've been really into getting a pair of boat shoes.

2) This morning my boss called me, made a few jokes and then asked me if a bug he logged iwth one of our partners had been fixed.  a) he would have known this already because they would have emailed him. b) he asked me if i could check on it, and i said no because i was in the middle of something so i couldn't do it immediately.  then he got sort of annoyed and said he would check it himself...which he could have originally done himself in 10 seconds thereby saving the 5 minutes we were on the phone.

My job kind of rules. I don't have any complaints, other than the waking up at 6:30 every morning.

The clocks on our phones are 12 minutes slow.  I just use my cell phone clock.

We have sort of a business casual dress code.  And traditionally, the file clerks dress a little more casual than everyone else because they have to lug around 20 lb files and do lots of dirty work.

One of our file clerks dresses like she's on goddamned Ally McBeal or something.  Pencil skirts, pointy heels, etc.  She looks completely overdressed compared to everyone, even the attorneys.

Really, I shouldn't have a problem with it.  She's comfortable and hey, who doesn't want to look fly?  I don't know why, but it irks me a little bit.

I am getting paid a dollar less an hour than I did a year ago, I have forced unpaid vacation days, I have to surrender 6 hours a week to save the School money, and I am doing twice the amount of work I was doing last year because the crew I work with is made up of incredibly lazy slow working people.

I hate almost everyone that calls in.
Don't like half the people I work with.

People that say "I didn't think you guys would be open" on a weekend or at night.

Any small talk.

People that are rude for no reason, or especially dumb.

People who write everything in the subject line of an email, and nothing in the body.
But really, how respectable or legit can anything be without blowjobs?
