What are the worst mascots?

I just spent 3 weeks teaching physics at nerd camp.  This was held at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA.  Their mascot is "The Diplomats".  I think that is the lamest I've ever heard.  Who would root for Diplomats Football?


Where I'm working on my masters (McDaniel College) we are the "Green Terror".  That's pretty dumb too, but Diplomats is waaaaayyyy worse.


I wanted to get a cool/funny "Fightin' Diplomats" tshirt at the bookstore before I left, but apparantly F&M college doesn't have that kind of sense of humor.  All of their tshirts just had a boring "F&M" logo (white on Blue) in a boring Times New Roman font.  Lame.

The Harvard Crimson.
They don't have a mascot.  They are just a color.

Also, the BU Terriers.  Because who the frig is intimidated by a puppy?

My high school was the Blue Streaks, which is just a meaningless phrase.

Our logo was a blue lightning bolt, and our mascot was a blue bulldog.

I think the UMBC Retrievers have a cool mascott.  Dogs rule!



The retriever mascot is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, the state dog of Maryland. There is a statue of a retriever known as True Grit that stands in front of the Retriever Activities Center (RAC). UMBC's costumed mascot has been known both as True Grit and Fever. UMBC also once had a live mascot named Campus Sam. Today, there is a live mascot named Gritty. In 2007, True revealed he had a sister, Trudy Grit, at the volleyball pep rally. She is now used as a mascot, as well.
