Again, I'm not trying to take anything away from them, they're a good enough band, but you're really naive if you think they have all this money behind them because they "work hard".  Lotsa bands work and tour harder than BC, but it doesn't mean shit.  Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it's them and not some screamo band or whetever.  There's nothing evil about getting a few breaks, I say good for them.  I'm actually jealous!

I will agree that the change of labels seems to have mellowed their sound somewhat.
I'm pretty sure the internet was created for the times you're not banging two women at the same time... because the internet is boring and that is not.

I ain't talking about their sound.  I'm sure it's slicker, but in terms of band opportunities, they're on the fast track.  That's the most notable difference.

It seems like the band doesnt promote it or anything, a lot of people I've talked to about it have never heard it...whacky.

Yeah, it's kind of odd they don't include it on their MySpace with all their other releases. Though I guess it had been unavailable for a while now, so them advertising it wouldn't do all that much. (I guess VC recently added 125 copies to their store, that the label had kept with no jacket, but previously it was "OOP" for quite a while. I'd imagine those 125 are the last of them.)

When I heard the album a few weeks ago, I did notice one of the tracks was previously on the Riot Before split, though had of course been rerecorded. (I don't have the album, but it was playing on the PA when I saw The Swellers and Living With Lions on the 4th)

I haven't listened to them a whole ton recorded, but I saw them in Longview with TBR and they were really good. Super nice guys, too.

This record sounds like a big train ramming into an even bigger train. Fuck yes.

They are having a ton of money thrown behind them because there is a ton to be made with them.  It has nothing to do with their management, they were on the fast track before Pat picked them up.   They had 5 major indie labels knocking down their doors before the hooked up with Pat & Side One Dummy.

Sure Pat owns part of adeline. but all they did was give the Small man record better Distro.  Please Tell me who tours and works harder, they make their own shirts, they pay their own way one tour, when they got kicked off the bus on warped tour, they pony'd up their own money to stay on the tour when most bands would have tucked their tails and went home.

They are a great fucking band, with great songs.  that is why they are going to blow up, not because Pat Magnerella is their manager.  OR Jenna Adler and CAA is their booking agent.  The bands they have been touring with are all blowing up and signing great deals too, The swellers just signed to Fueled By Ramen, why not because they have great management, because they tour their asses off, and work hard as balls.

Of course, that's pretty much a given.

Catchy enough, but songs where the lyrics are like 'they're giving guns to my friends' is rediiiiiiiiiculous. Gimme a break, sheesh.

Not bad though.
Unfortunately, I'm not interested in having a good time.
How is that wierd. Plenty of women just move on from rapes.[/quote

I'm not gonna argue with you.  If you think they're the best band and have worked harder than any other band in existence that's your opinion.  A naive opinion, but an opinion nonetheless.

Obviously you're very close to the band because you're citing their management and agent by name, so I think it's fair to say you're biased.  No need to get uppity though, like I said, I like the band.

Who were the 5 big indies that wanted to sign Broadway Calls before they had management?  I can't even think of 5 big indies anymore!
