Skot - did you grow in Oak Forest or move there?

I did meet Amanda once - she was extremely nice to me and very interesting to talk to.

I grew up in Glendale Heights... Billy Corgan was a senior at my high school when I was a freshman.

When I was really young, I lived in Bolingbrook.

Now I live in the city because the 'burbs blow. Nothing to do.

Poor Midlothian never gets the love.  I grew up in Oak Forest too - around 167th and Cicero - and spent a fair amount of time around there despite going to high school in Tinley.

i used to live in tinley too, right on harlem before 183rd. Then i got married and got a house out in NW indiana. Oak forest sucks as of now my parents still live there. It used to be great when i was growing up there, we had killer bands that was in the surrounding areas, Saltine junkie (my old band which skot joined later on) which was from oak forest Mandril which was also from oak forest, State of mind, Skagina from tinley. It was the shit. Now its quite depressing.

PPMB,
if you are from Chicago, let it be known here in this thread. Put which neighborhood you live in as well, since in my eyes there really is no "Chicago" but a lot of small towns (the different wards/neighborhoods) etc...
Anyway
1) I'm Bradley Adita and
2) I live in Humboldt Park
3) here's my myspace... www.myspace.com/bradleyadita
    here's my facebook... www.facebook.com/bradleyadita

4) here somethings I do:

i have an interview with Propagandhi that i'll post soon...

i'm also working on a new V/A music compilation for my zine A Day In The Air more on that later (in a new thread)

5) Here's a list of people I have actually met on the PPMB:
Mike Bryne, Larry Livermore,Phillip Hill, Nate Gang, Ben Weasel, Mikey Erg, Joe Mushugana, Fletcher, and Freddie Fireworks, - Sorry if I forgot you, let me know if we've met....

OK - Enough about me... Lets hear about you, Chicago.

I'm Joe and I live in Garfield Ridge (West of Midway Airport).  I used to be in some bands, but now I spend most of my spare time with my 2 daughters.

My wife wants me to get out more, so I might be getting back together with some old friends to play music again.

I know some people on here, but haven't seen any of them for years because I have poor social skills.

It still blows my mind that the Northside and Southside are like two completely different worlds. There is an entirely different punk scene on the Southside full of bands that I've never heard of!

I'd like to know who they are.  Bands like Flat Foot 56 and Arrivals claim SouthSide, but they're actually from the suburbs.  What bands have people that LIVE there?  I am told there's a thrash scene in like Pilsen.
