Playstation controller is an ergonomic nightmare. I'm sorry but it's super uncomfortable for the joysticks compared to 360.

I played FAXANADU for a good five hours today. I don't know what came over me! Judging from my game saves, the last time I seriously played a videogame was last February. Must be a winter thing.

Anyone else hear about Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD (THPS-HD)?
Apparently it's a HD revamp of the THPS1 & THPS2.

7 Levels so far confirmed:

Warehouse
School 2
Mall
Phoenix
Hanger
Marseillis
Venice

it is slated for as a Summer DOWNLOAD ONLY for PS360, roughly ~$15.

Faxanadu is killer. Play Legacy of the Wizard also. It's part of the same mothership series but they're pretty different. Legacy of the Wizard is way harder.

It's pretty cool if you're a fan of old NES games where you wander around not having a clue about what to do in a giant Metroid-esque dungeon without a map system. It's beatable though. Just takes some killer vg chops.

Hmmmmmmm. I may have to look into this. Are the goals and gaps updated? Or just the same exact game with improved graphics (and possibly controls, since I believe the revert move didn't come in until THPS3).

Anyone know a safe way to clean gameboy carts? I've been trying to play though the super mario land games but my SML2 cart keeps freezing or resetting. It's starting to piss me off.

A new version of Dwarf Fortress was finally released, I'll probably waste a week or 2 of my life playing it. I can't wait to have "fun".

The rumor I heard is that they're gonna have THPS3 level controls. I'm hoping for the same soundtrack but that's not likely.

I just started Super Mario RPG on the Wii. How come nobody told me this was just like Pokemon? My kids think I'm the coolest guy ever!

We're pretty close to flipping Lego Star Wars III, and I have to say I'm a little disappointed. The story of the Clone Wars cartoon just didn't get translated to the game very well. I have no real idea what "levels" and "worlds" there are. It's just a group of semi-related Star Wars esque levels. Plus, there are SO MANY levels where you have to build/destroy on those little base circles, and they are annoying.

My son started Epic Mickey last week, and I can't wait to get into that one. He didn't seem to mind the camera angle, and I have not played it, so I can't comment on that yet, but it looks fantastic. Too bad it's not multi-player.

There are 7 bosses to beat, just like the gym leaders. You level up and learn new moves. You get itwms to help you in battle. You fight the same weak characters over and over as you walk from city to city along routes. The only difference I see so far is that the people do the fighting not the pokemon.

Unless this game drastically changes, it's a LOT like Pokemon.

You just described a lot of games. The main difference would be the collecting and leveling of pokemon, which is a fundamental part of the pokemon.

Though, if your kids like games with the features you described there's probably a ton of rpgs for them to try.

Of course I've described a lot of games. I never said I didn't.

My kids thought I was a loser for wanting to play some 20 year old game, and now that they see it is a lot like Pokemon, which it totally is, they don't think that anymore.

Has anybody played Kingdom Of Amalur: Reckoning yet? It's a new action RPG series written by Todd McFarlane and the lead production dude who worked on Oblivion an Morrowind. It's getting some good reviews.

I've been playing a few games lately but have been focusing on Aquaria on the iPad. I'd never played the PC version but heard it was great. It is. The game is really beautiful and has great music and the touch controls aren't a problem at all.

I also just got Resident Evil Revelations for the 3DS but want to finish Aquaria first. I thought the free demo was really cool so I went ahead and bought it. I've only played the first short intro part but it looks awesome so far.
