I have to run out and fix something in a minute but I should be around most of the afternoon. I'm excited as a chicken to defend my title!
I don't there's anyone else on the planet who would or could write a love song about ocelots except for Christy Brigitte Darlington.
Dude's totally unappreciated.

I did this.  It is like my version of the president pardoning a turkey.  I decided to pardon all these turkeys and not have them lose a MHI the day before thanksgiving.
Todd, this is A-plus quality signature material here.  Just saying.
hahaha wow . tood, 12/10.

GREG VS GURTMAN

Greg: Sick Sick Birds “Buildings”: I like the way this song came out. 7/10
Gurtman: Mott the Hoople “Sweet Jane”: Huh, I’ve never heard Mott the Hoople do this song. It’s a good song, but nobody does  this like Lou R. 6/10

Greg wins!

CLEPTIC VS MICHELOB

Cleptic: Sick Sick Birds “Buildings”: I like the way this song came out. 7/10
Michelob: Witches with Dicks “Die Painfully”: This sounds a lot like a D4 song that Paddy or Billy would sing. It’s pretty cool. I think this band had some songs that sounded a little less than D4 and I liked those better. 6/10

Cleptic wins.

BILLY VS AGGRO

Billy: Flamin’ Groovies “Shake Some Action”: This is on the short list of possible SSB covers. I love this song. 10/10
Aggro: Dead Boys “Down in Flames”: This song is so mean. It’s as short as a chicken. Two verses and two choruses. Pretty unfuckwithable. 9/10

Well done, boys. Billy wins that one.

I like how "Buildings" got pulled in two straight match-ups!
I don't there's anyone else on the planet who would or could write a love song about ocelots except for Christy Brigitte Darlington.

i expect that there will be a good number of SSB pulls in this tourney.

i feel badly for having handed aggro his ass so brutally.

The station of "Todd" is currently fucked. I'll come back to those matchups.

And I think we've discussed this before, but I actually kinda prefer the Mott the Hoople rendition of Sweet Jane...Blasphemy!!

GREG (1-0) VS CLEPTIC (1-0)

Greg: The Creeps “These Walls”: This is pretty cool – just 2 lines and 2 simple chord progressions but there is an undeniable energy. 6/10
Cleptic: Smokey Robinson “Tracks of My Tears”: This is lovely. 10/10

Cleptic remains undefeated.

"TODD" VS GURTMAN (0-1)

”Todd”: All Girl Summer Fun Band “This Will Never End” – This sounds dramatically different from anything I’ve heard from this band. It’s less fun! and much better! 8/10
Gurtman: The Ronettes “(Best Part of) Breaking Up”: They did a good job of realizing that breaking up and making up rhyme. Far from the best Ronettes song.  7/10

"TODD" wins.

Hey Mike, do you still give songs from bands you're in an auto 7/10?  Just wonder if that's your real score for Buildings or not.

HANNY VS "TODD" (1-0)

Hanny: Exploding Hearts “Throwaway Style”: I like this one but it’s one of the forgettable ones from the record. Also, hacks. 6/10
”Todd”: No Age “Errand Boy” This kind of sounds like if U2 did a noise rock record. The beginning is like the noise rock version of “where the streets have no name.” Ugh, now they’re singing like they’re in a goddamned monastery. These guys are too smart for their own good. 4/10

Hanny wins.
