A new Lucas tune entitled "Last Show" has been uploaded to our myspace. Also a Matt tune "Watchpost" that we've been playing for years finally gets put to tape. Both are from our yet to be released album that we just put the finishing touches on last night. More info to come. For now take a listen to the tune and let us know what you think.
http://www.myspace.com/deadmechanicalLast ShowCan't wait to watch this room explode
There's oh-so-many years of built up tension
packed inside this stick count
1-2-3-4 and let it go
Let it dissipate into the empty air
Let it never come back.
We're all smiles at funerals
with the fading chords of a joyous song
to mark this passing
1-2-3-4 and we all know
that everything has gotta change
and that nothing could be any different
but tomorrow we'll still wake up to a world slightly diminished
tomorrow, we'll wake up to a world without you
this is the last show,
and I can't wait to watch this room explode.
WatchpostYou can't
be sure it's not a test
staring at the kite high in the air
you think
you just might make a break
as the glass string slides across your hands
and we're all waiting here
we're all waiting here for something
you hear
the sounds of ghetto birds
siren songs and blue street corner lights
the watchposts, manned by silent ghosts,
chase away the traffic for a while
and we're all waiting here
we're all waiting here for something
we all set up shop
just a couple blocks away
and we're all keeping occupied at night
and we'll try another time
when the breezes blow just right
when the city finally starts to breathe
the harbor wind is bound to turn
we'll just have to wait and see
You think
you just might see her face
staring out on Frederick Ave. at night
but she's dreaming
trying to form the shapes
of Baltimore, 1955
And we're all waiting here
we're all waiting here for something
the press board went up fast
only decay lasts 'round here
you're up now
